Rantau Panjang railway station : ウィキペディア英語版 | Rantau Panjang railway station
The Rantau Panjang railway station is a disused Malaysian railway station located near Jalan Besar and named after the town of Rantau Panjang. Opened in 1921, it is currently disused after railcar drivers from State Railway of Thailand protested and refused to stop at Wakaf Bharu railway station in Kelantan, Malaysia. The Thai entrance to the Harmony rail bridge is currently sealed off by the Royal Thai Army with KTMB and SRT's permission. ==Services== KTM Intercity trains once served the station. Trains between Malaysia and Thailand (the International Express or Ekspres Antarabangsa, between Butterworth and Bangkok, and the Ekspres Langkawi, between Kuala Lumpur and Hat Yai) cross the border on the western branch of the Malay network at Padang Besar railway station. Later, DMUs (diesel multiple units) from Thailand took up the entire schedule until drivers' protests against terminating the DMU services at Kota Bharu and Tumpat, which rose unexpected numbers of passengers and led to its disuse.
